Chernih, secretary of the Nakhodka City Committee of the Maritime Territory of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising Kim Jong Il's revolutionary life and exploits in the run-up to the 6th anniversary of his demise.
