Javid Ahmad, director of the Administrative Department of the Kuwait Times who doubles as chairman of the Kuwaiti Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from Nov. 23 to Dec. 17 and decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il through media and hold political and cultural events such as remembrance meeting, seminar and film show in the period.
