Ristiyanto, general secretary of the National Guidance Council of the Pioneer Party of Indonesia and chairman of the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee set a remembrance period from Nov. 24 to Dec. 17 and decided to hold political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il in the period.
