Attending it were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK, vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party and armed forces organs, cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, men and officers of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces and officials of institutions at all levels and industrial establishments and working citizens and youth and students in the city.

Celebration speeches were made by Pak Kwang Ho, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and vice-chairman of the C.C. WPK, Army General Pak Yong Sik, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, and Pak Chol Min, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kimilsungist-Kimjongilist Youth League.

The speakers said that the successful test-fire of new-type ICBM Hwasong-15 put the strategic position of the DPRK on the highest level and fully displayed the invincible spirit of socialist Korea.

They extended the highest glory and deep gratitude in reflection of all the Party members, servicepersons and civilians to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who opened the royal road for the building of a powerful socialist nation by successfully realizing the historic cause of completing the state nuclear force.

They also expressed heartfelt congratulations to the scientists, technicians, workers and officials in the field of defense science who implemented the decision made at the 2nd plenary meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK and most faithfully and perfectly carried into practice the Party's plan for building a strategic nuclear force.

They stressed that all the officials, Party members and working people should turn out as one in the death-defying struggle for the Party, the revolution, the country and the people, like the combatants in the field of defense science, so as to make leaping progress and innovations on all the fronts for building an economic power and a highly-civilized power and improving the people's standard of living and thus conclude this significant year, full of grand national events, with brilliant achievements.

At the end of the gathering, fireworks were displayed in celebration of the successful test-fire of Hwasong-15.
