New Bud-grafting Method Developed
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Economic Forest Institute of the Academy of Forest Science in the DPRK developed a new bud-grafting method to increase fruit yield of Evodia daniellii trees over 2.5 times.

The institute has multiplied the number of fruiting trees by grating branches of trees, which have yielded for over three years, on the branches of fruitless trees.

On this basis, it established a new bud-grafting method to improve Evodia daniellii forests.

The institute has made such achievements as turning Evodia daniellii forests in ten cities and counties, including Jongju City and Unjon County of North Phyongan Province, Myonggan County of North Hamgyong Province, Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province and Anbyon County of Kangwon Province, into high-yielding ones from February.

According to Ri Hyon Song, director of the institute, it plans to improve all the Evodia daniellii forests across the country within 3-4 years.
