He said that the drill does not help stabilize the tense situation around the Korean peninsula, adding that the present situation is so tense that a single flame is enough to spill over into a conflagration.

He said the Russian leadership has repeatedly stressed that the escalation of the military exercises in the region can never be tolerated, noting that the stabilizing of the tense situation means refrain from creating the war threat in the region.

He went on:

The present drill which takes place around the boundary with north Korea is a provocation. The U.S. is ill-famed for always irritating the states which do not act under its preset orbit. At present such thing is occurring. It is long since the words unipolar world disappeared. But regretfully, the American administration remains unchanged in its behavior and still regards itself as "an international gendarme."
