Jon Arni Halldorsson, general secretary of the Iceland-DPRK Friendship and Cultural Society, was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events praising the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of his demise.
