S. Korea: Teachers Union Declares Hunger-Strike

| Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union of south Korea held a press conference outside the "government" building in Seoul on Dec. 4, declaring a hunger-strike in demand of the withdrawal of notice on outlawing the union, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Jaju Sibo. Speakers at the conference said that the union has been outlawed for four years and the present chief executive is turning away his face from removing the educational evils by the preceding conservative regime. They stressed that they would surely get the decision on outlawing the union repealed within this year. The union sent a written opinion made by 1,728 civic and public organizations supporting the union to the Chongwadae on the same day. |
