The site is where on Dec. 12, Juche 37 (1948), President Kim Il Sung test-fired a submachine gun manufactured by the Korean working class for the first time. It is associated with the feats of the peerlessly great persons who laid a solid foundation for the independent defense industry, paving an untrodden thorny path.

Before the mosaic depicting the images of the President and leader Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk erected at the site, its visitors looked back with deep emotion on their whole life dedicated to boosting the military capability of the country.
