The letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.

The letter said that the conclusion, made by Kim Jong Un at the conference, serves as important guidelines as it proudly reviewed the course covered by the Juche-based national defense industry under the guidance of the great leaders and the great Party and indicated a clear orientation and concrete ways for rapidly developing the country's defense industry into an ultra-modern self-reliant defense industry in the 21st century on the basis of the victory of significance in the history of the nation whereby the cause of completing the state nuclear force has been realized.

Noting that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has become the strongest military power by possessing H-bomb, ICBM and SLBM in such short period of time despite the worst tempest and ordeals, it stressed that this great miracle in the history of the nation is the great victory won thanks to the idea of independence, matchless pluck and distinguished guidance of the respected Supreme Leader.

The letter went on:

We will advance with redoubled courage and high spirit toward the campaign for uninterrupted progress and innovations, enshrining the noble mission for the times and people.

We will become standard-bearers and shock brigade opening the wide avenue of the glorious Juche revolution with powerful arms, always remembering that the speed of national defense industry is the speed of the revolution.

National defense scientists and technicians will bravely advance in the spirit of death-defying corps for the country and the people gained in bolstering the nuclear force and further strengthen the state nuclear force in quality and quantity.

We will enhance the Juche character of national defense industry and realize its self-supporting capability, holding aloft the banner of self-reliance to smash the sanctions and pressure by the U.S. imperialists and their vassal forces with world-startling miracles of the arsenal of the Supreme Command.

Present at the meeting were Thae Jong Su, No Kwang Chol, Hong Sung Mu, Hong Yong Chil and all the participants in the 8th Conference of Munitions Industry.
