The medal was instituted according to the instruction of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un for increasing the quality in production and construction.

Recently, it was awarded to different products.

Among them are bags made by the Pyongyang Bag Factory, active electrode boiler by North Hwanghae Provincial High-tech Product Manufactory and fried-rice cake by the Mangyongdae Kyonghung Foodstuff Factory.

In particular, the active electrode boiler is an energy-saving one, which is five times smaller than the existing ones of same capacity in volume and needs 30-40 percent less power with high heating efficiency as it can be installed near production sites. And 85 percent of its accessories are made by the manufactory.
