Papers Slash at Japanese Reactionaries' Fascist Suppression against Chongryon
Pyongyang, December 21 (KCNA) -- The Japan police authorities searched the headquarters and 11 branch offices of the Kumgang Insurance Company under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and also houses of its president and employees on Dec. 17, charging there is a sign that deposit was taken out and put into hiding from a bank account managed by the company.

Earlier, a combined investigation headquarters made up of the police in Kyoto, Kanagawa, Yamaguchi, Shimane and Niigata prefectures searched the office of the Korean Football Team in Japan and the house of former chairman of the Shibse branch of Tokyo metropolitan of Chongryon under the pretext of the investigation into a Japanese company's violation of law on foreign exchange.

Leading papers here Thursday brand this as a serious challenge to the DPRK and Chongryon and a hideous criminal act targeting the elimination of Chongryon.

Rodong Sinmun says the Japanese reactionaries failed to gather any evidence related to the "suspected violation of law".

In actuality, the coercive search carried out by the Japanese reactionaries targeting Chongryon was not just for investigation into the "violation of law". This was a planned politically-motivated terrorist act to deliberately suppress Chongryon.

What is more serious is that the suppression was carried out at a time when all the officials of Chongryon and all the Koreans in Japan were wrapped in the memorial feelings on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. This fact alone is enough to prove that the search by the Japanese authorities was a sinister provocation aimed at meeting a political purpose.

Minju Joson says the more frantically the Japanese reactionaries resort to suppression of Chongryon despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK, the higher price they will be made to pay, and that the responsibility will rest with the Japanese authorities in entirety.
