Commenting on the fact, Rodong Sinmun Thursday says the saber-rattling indicates that the U.S. is resorting to its last-ditch efforts to ignite a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula.

It is clearly evidenced by the open clamor made by the bellicose forces of the U.S. military that the purpose of the military exercises is to further the capabilities for neutralizing the key strategic targets of the DPRK in the early stage of war, the commentary notes, and goes on:

This has clearly proved that the U.S. is the chief culprit escalating the tension on the Korean peninsula and harassing world peace and security.

In fact, the U.S. has made the war on the Korean peninsula a fait accompli.

Experts assert that what is necessary for the U.S. is escalation of tension and this becomes a pretext for all military actions of the U.S. in and around the Korean peninsula.

Sea blockade, a wanton violation of the sovereignty and dignity of an independent state which is little short of a war act, would lead to an unpredictable disaster if it becomes a reality.

The U.S. should be aware of this.

We do not want a war but do not avoid it.
