Women's Union Members Visit Hoeryong Revolutionary Site
Hoeryong, December 21 (KCNA) -- Officials and members of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea in Pyongyang and provinces visited the Hoeryong Revolutionary Site on Thursday ahead of the centenary of birth of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk.

They laid a floral basket and bouquets before the statue of Kim Jong Suk at the foot of Osan Hill and paid tribute to her.

Being briefed on the fact that Kim Jong Suk nurtured the anti-Japanese patriotic will, experiencing the sorrow of being a member of a stateless nation since her childhood and grew up to be an ardent revolutionary, they looked round historic mementoes preserved at her old home.

At the Hoeryong Revolutionary Museum they recalled her revolutionary career with deep emotion.

They also went round the Mangyang Ferry through which Kim Jong Suk crossed the Tuman River with her family members in spring of 1922, hardening her will not to come back home before the country's liberation.

On the same day, the officials and members of the women's union toured Kim Ki Song Hoeryong Senior Middle School associated with the traces of leader Kim Jong Il and others.
