Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- The number of visitors to the Hoeryong Revolutionary Site in Hoeryong City, North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK is on the steady increase. According to data available, more than 300,000 servicepersons, working people from all walks of life, youth and students, overseas Koreans and foreigners visited the revolutionary site this year marking the centenary of the birth of anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk. The revolutionary site is a historic place where Kim Jong Suk was born into a patriotic and revolutionary family and spent her childhood in the period of national sufferings. In the spring of Juche 11 (1922), Kim Jong Suk crossed the Tuman River, following her family members who had to leave their native place, so distressed by the exploitation and oppression of the Japanese imperialist aggressors and their stooges. She embarked on the road of revolution in her teens and performed undying feats in the struggle for liberating the country from Japan's colonial rule and building a new country under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung. There are her statue and the Hoeryong Revolutionary Museum at the revolutionary site. And her native home, Mangyang Ferry and other relics are preserved in their original states. In an interview with KCNA in front of the native home, Kim Hyang Mi, a student of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, said: Kim Jong Suk cultivated patriotism against the Japanese imperialists, suffering all sorts of misfortune and hardships, and dedicated her all to the country and nation. I will learn after the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and indomitable revolutionary spirit displayed by her to uphold the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un with loyalty. |
