Performances Given to Mark National Holidays

| Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- There took place colorful art performances at theatres in Pyongyang and provinces on Sunday to mark the 26th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 100th birth anniversary of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk. Central art troupes gave celebration performances in Pyongyang. Concert "Nostalgia" was given by the National Symphony Orchestra at the Moranbong Theatre and a performance "Eternal Mother of Revolution" at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre by the female chorus of the Mansudae Art Troupe. A drama "Woman Comrade of Mt Paektu" was staged at the National Theatre and a revolutionary opera "Victory of the Revolution Is in Sight" and a dance suite "Our Golden Country" at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre and the Ponghwa Art Theatre. Circus and magic performances were given at the Pyongyang Circus Theater and the jugglery theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe. The Ryanggang Provincial Art Troupe gave a revolutionary opera "With Sunshine" which deals with the revolutionary activities of Kim Jong Suk. Similar performances were also given in other provinces |
