It was developed by the Ferrous Mining Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences.

O Su Nam, head of the institute, told KCNA:

The catfish harvester is a labor-saving one.

When visiting the Pyongyang Catfish Farm in October Juche 104 (2015), respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un saw modern and efficient equipment including the catfish harvester and highly appreciated them.

True to the intention of the respected Supreme Leader, scientists made a new catfish harvester and introduced it into the Samchon Catfish Farm.

It can catch 10 tons of catfish weighing 1-1.5kg per hour, 2.5kg at the maximum.

It can save manpower by one third in catching catfish and other fishes.
