DPRK Anniversaries Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries to mark the sixth anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il and the 26th anniversary of his assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army, the sixth anniversary of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's assumption of the KPA supreme commandership and the 100th birth anniversary of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk.

Remembrance meetings, seminars, rallies, lectures, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in France, Britain, Spain, South Africa, Mexico and Peru from Dec. 5 to 17.

Displayed at the venues of the events were photos dealing with the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Also on display there were their works, and books and photos introducing the successes registered by the service personnel and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"DPRK Tells with Bitter Tears" and other Korean films were shown.

The chairman of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and other speakers said that although there were many great men and leaders, the history did not know such outstanding leader as Kim Jong Il who devoted himself to the people.

The chairman of the Mfumalanga Provincial Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of South Africa praised Kim Jong Il as the great man who glorified the DPRK as a unique country in the world which is single-heartedly united and turned it into the military power with tremendous capabilities.

The general secretary of the People's Socialist Party of Mexico praised the DPRK for demonstrating its might as the world military power under the leadership of the respected Supreme Leader.

The chairperson of the Peruvian Association for the Study of Revolutionary Activities of Comrade Kim Jong Suk said the greatest feat of Kim Jong Suk was that she defended Kim Il Sung at the risk of her life in the battlefields during the anti-Japanese war. She lives in the hearts of Korean people as a woman commander of guerillas, the anti-Japanese war heroine and the mother of Korea for all ages, the chairperson added.
