Korean Fishermen Determined to Make Big Fish Hauls
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The workers and officials of the fishery field of the DPRK have turned out as one in the struggle to implement the tasks set forth by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.

Ko Ton Ha, vice minister of Fisheries, told KCNA:

The respected Supreme Leader in his New Year Address stressed the need to enhance ship building and repair capacities, launch scientific fishing campaigns, and reenergize aquatic farming.

His New Year Address serves as an important guideline to be held fast to by the fishery field this year.

Dockyards, shipbuilding plants and fishery stations of the country built and set many "Hwanggumhae"-class fishing boats afloat last year.

This year, too, we are fully ready for making big fish hauls.

Fishery units have perfectly established weather forecast, maritime control, fish processing and ship repair systems based on latest science and technology.

Measures have been taken at fishery stations in the west coastal areas to prepare various fishing tackles.

And those in the east coastal areas have been furnished with fishing tackles suited to winter season to wage a scientific fishing campaign.

True to the Workers' Party of Korea's intention of developing sea fish farming, we will establish cyclic fish farming system in walleye pollack farming, introduce labor- and water-saving fish farming method, reenergize sea fish farming and cage-net fish farming in favorable sections and thus conserve and propagate marine and freshwater resources in every way possible.
