The Switzerland-Korea Committee and the Swiss Group for the Study of the Juche Idea said this in a joint statement on Jan. 1 in support of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's New Year Address.

The statement said that as Kim Jong Un clarified in his New Year Address, the year 2017 of the DPRK was a year of heroic struggle and great victory, a year when the DPRK set up an indestructible milestone in the history of building a powerful socialist country with the spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the dynamic force, adding:

An outstanding success the Party, state and people of the DPRK won last year was the accomplishment of the great, historic cause of perfecting the national nuclear forces.

This year will mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Marshal Kim Jong Un set forth in his New Year Address the slogan "Let us launch a revolutionary general offensive to achieve fresh victory on all fronts of building a powerful socialist country!"

He clarified that as a responsible, peace-loving nuclear power, the DPRK will neither have recourse to nuclear weapons unless hostile forces of aggression violate its sovereignty and interests nor threaten any other country or region by means of nuclear weapons.
