The Indian newspaper Indian and World Event said:

Kim Jong Suk was born into a poor peasant family in Hoeryong, North Hamgyong Province of Korea, on Dec. 24, 1917.

She keenly experienced the grief of being a member of the stateless nation and embarked upon the road of liberating the country in her teens, and grew up to be a committed revolutionary through her underground struggle and activities in the guerilla zone.

She joined the Korean People's Revolutionary Army led by President Kim Il Sung and had waged protracted bloody battles with arms until the liberation of the country, winning her fame as the anti-Japanese war woman commander and a competent political activist.

The Egyptian newspaper Al Akhbar Almassay said:

History recorded many famous women who contributed to progress and prosperity of their countries and nations but there was no such woman political activist as Kim Jong Suk who dedicated her all to the freedom and happiness of the people.

What was outstanding of her exploits for the cause of national liberation is that she protected Kim Il Sung at the risk of her life.
