Members of Metal Workers Union Go on Strike in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- Members of the Metal Workers Union in south Korea have been on stay-in strike since Nov. 12 last year on the 75m high chimney of a business building in demand of the right of the trade union activities and the right to existence, according to the south Korean internet paper Chamsesang on Jan. 14.

The strikers said that it is very hard to strike in the bitter cold weather 15 degrees below zero, they can't move as they are surrounded by ice and the ground is chilled but they can't stop the strike in this unfair society where 10 years-long struggle couldn't bring even a job to them and the trade union activities are banned.

They deplored that the capitalist society remains unchanged even under the present "government".
