Rodong Sinmun Censures U.S. for Aggravating Regional Situation

Pyongyang, January 21 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the U.S. organized a foreign ministers' meeting of its satellites in Canada against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The meeting brought together those in charge of foreign affairs of mainly U.S. allies that participated in the past Korean War. The meeting chaired by U.S. Secretary of State Tillerson was reported to discuss the issues to intensify sanctions and pressure for "denuclearization" of the DPRK. Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a commentary says this runs contrary to the aspiration and wishes of all the Koreans for the country's peace and reunification and is an unpardonable provocation aimed at aggravating the regional situation. What the U.S. seeks in the meeting is to realize its aggressive goals by wrecking peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and exacerbating the tension, the commentary says, and goes on: That's why the U.S. is hell-bent on the sanctions and pressure against the DPRK by mobilizing even its vassal forces in a bid to cast a chill over the atmosphere of north-south dialogue and refrain the tension on the Korean Peninsula from being defused. What merits a more serious attention is the fact that the south Korean authorities spouted undesirable remarks at the U.S.-led meeting in Canada. The south Korean authorities would be well advised to think twice about inglorious consequences to be entailed by their behavior. With no sanctions and blockade can the hostile forces frighten the DPRK. Even though the U.S. gets more desperate in anti-DPRK sanctions by mobilizing riffraff, unaware of the DPRK's strategic position and the trend of the times, the U.S. will never reverse the fate of the American empire rushing headlong to doom. |
