Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" who doubles as chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The preparatory committee decided to widely introduce Kim Jong Il's exploits through media and organize political and cultural events including a joint meeting and a film show on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
