According to an official concerned, offshore farms in the west coastal area finished the planting of kelp nurslings till January 16 and are gathering hundreds of tons of kelp every day.

Offshore farms across the country planted kelp nurslings in vast area and manured and tended them under a meticulous plan from the end of last year.

The Pupho Offshore Farm which takes a big share in seaweed production expanded cultivation area and replenished materials by its own efforts to increase kelp output.

The Kumipho Offshore Farm is harvesting kelp in a hundred and several tens of hectares of cultivation area.

The Ongjin Offshore Farm is enhancing the operating rate of barges to the maximum and conducting dynamic campaigns in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experiences with each other, thus boosting kelp production.
