The Hyesan Youth Mine, Sangnong Mine and Unpha Mine under the Ministry of Mining Industry are channeled efforts into securing more stopes with good prospect to raise the capacity for carrying ores and the rate of actual extraction of ore dressing.

They are remodeling vertical elevators and winches and increasing the operating rate of compressors, rock-drills and other equipment to the maximum.

They developed various stopes at deep parts favorable for production and formed loop lines.

Along with this, they established the automatic measuring system and newly installed domestic pumps to boost production.

The Ssangryong Mine is putting spurs to earth-scrapping at an open-cast cutting site to produce phosphate fertilizer and pushing ahead with the work for reconstructing the hauling track and extending new electric-car lines.

A mine producing glauberite, the Unhung and other mines are focusing efforts on expanding the mineral production capacity.
