Remodeling of Samjiyon County Progresses Apace in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- It has been pushed forward in the DPRK to spruce up Samjiyon County.

According to an official concerned, the 216 Division, ministries, national institutions and relevant industrial establishments have made innovations in turning Samjiyon County into a model and icon one of the whole country and a mountainous city to be the envy of the world.

In step with the completion of designs for educational quarter, residential quarter, sports facility quarter, sports tourism quarter, open-air park quarter and industrial quarter to be built according to the general plan for remodeling the county, the field headquarters is giving priority to the production of building materials like cement block.

Taking the lead in block production campaign are the Paektusan Hero Youth Brigade and the Ryanggang Provincial Brigade which built hardening grounds with good heating system as required by the cold weather in the northern part of the country.

The Hyesan-Samjiyon Railway Construction Brigade is carrying out the interior decoration of railway stations and their auxiliary buildings on a high level and ensuring the test run of train in winter. It also concentrates its manpower and equipment on the construction of dwelling houses for evacuees from the vicinity of the Hyesan-Samjiyon railway, while making full preparations for the second-stage project.

Ministries, national institutions and relevant industrial establishments have paid primary attention to the cement production, transportation and supply of equipment and building materials for the construction of Samjiyon County.

In close cooperation with the 216 Division, the railway sector affords preference to the transportation of cement, steel materials and building fixtures.

In his New Year Address, respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un set forth the task to push ahead with major construction projects including the renovation of Samjiyon County.
