Big Efforts Paid to Education in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 31 (KCNA) -- The Education Commission strives to improve the qualifications of teachers and the contents and methods of education as required by the developing reality, as part of their efforts to implement the tasks set forth by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in his New Year Address.

It has taken such measures as organizing reeducation and training courses to improve the qualifications of teachers at universities and other schools.

Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and other universities have pushed ahead with producing many more world-level competent scholars and encouraging teachers and researchers to take active part in international seminars.

And due measures have been taken to improve the quality of education for postgraduate courses at different universities in local areas and teacher-training colleges pay deep attention to put distance education on a higher stage.

It gains momentum to create a model in improving contents and methods of education and generalize them at Moranbong Secondary School No. 1 and other schools and achievements have been made in preparing teaching programs for primary and general secondary schools.

Preparations have been made to successfully enforce the simultaneous graduation examination at senior middle schools in tens of cities and counties across the country.

The Education Commission also strives to set up more technical senior middle schools and inspires universities to play the role as the center of scientific studies, information, database and tele-education in their localities, while paying big efforts to establish a regular system of academic integration.

Meanwhile, it progresses apace to increase the number of subjects at tele-education colleges and improve the educational condition and environment.
