Feb. 8, Juche 37 (1948) witnessed the KPA foundation - a national historic event of great significance in developing the Korean revolution and carving out the destiny of the Korean people.

Thanks to the KPA birth, the Korean people realized their cherished desire for modern regular army and put an end to the distress-torn history of the ruined country.

The KPA is regular revolutionary armed forces that took the first step and established the valuable tradition under the care of the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander.

The army inflicted a disgraceful serious defeat on the U.S. imperialist aggressors who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world, which brought about the beginning of the decline for them. It has devotedly defended the cause of the leader and the Party with arms and also taken the lead in opening a broad avenue to the building of a thriving country in decades of grim revolution.

The credit for them rest with the great care.

The revolutionary armed forces, blessed with illustrious leaders and brilliant commanders down through generations, are greeting the greatest heyday in its development.

Only victory and glory are in store for the KPA, which demonstrates its might as a revolutionary army of the Party advancing straight ahead aiming to the direction only pointed by the Party, an invincible army which can crush any aggressors at one blow and creators of the people's happiness.
