U.S. Has No Other Option than to Co-exist with DPRK: Minju Joson

Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Former U.S. State Secretaries Kissinger and Shultz and former Deputy Secretary of State Armitage at a U.S. senate hearing some days ago said it is now late for the Trump administration to settle the nuclear issue of Korea. Saying that there are no possibilities in place for stopping Korea's reinforcement of nuclear weapons, Kissinger warned that unilateral fighting of a war with Korea can bring great consequences. Agreeing to it, Shultz stressed the need for the U.S. to be careful, asserting that a threat little short of an empty talk will only destroy the U.S.

A commentary of Minju Joson Wednesday says that this is a warning given to the Trump administration which is shunning the situation, being seized by the pipedream of "nuclear dismantlement of the north" and pushing the country into self-destruction.

"Nuclear dismantlement" of the DPRK pursued by the Trump administration is a wild dream that can never come true and there are neither strength nor ways to reverse the situation, the commentary says, and goes on:

Gone are the days when the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula was a controversial issue.

Now is a time to discuss how to set right the relations with the DPRK after acknowledging the DPRK's strategic position as an entity possessed of nuclear weapons, not to discuss denuclearization.

To doggedly deny this logical way of thinking and to dream of "nuclear dismantlement" of the DPRK while resorting to the old way of thinking which has already lost its value is not just a waste of time but also a senseless act bringing great danger.

There is no other option now for the U.S. than to co-exist with the DPRK, a nuclear power.
