Kwanum Temple Restored in DPRK
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The Kwanum Temple, a historical relic of Koryo (918-1392) that was built in 970, was recently restored in the DPRK.

The temple, rebuilt in 1646, stands near the Pakyon Falls at the foot of Mt Chonma in Pakyon-ri of Kaesong City.

The Department of National Heritage Protection under the Kaesong City People's Committee and the Kaesong City Management Office for the Protection of National Heritage replaced rotten wood parts and tiles of the Taeung Hall and dormitory in the temple and colorfully repainted them on the principle of historicism and restoration.

According to an official concerned, the restoration project was carried out, according to the agreement on cooperation in repairing historical relics in Kaesong City concluded between the DPRK National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and the German embassy in Pyongyang in April 2017.
