Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to hold political and cultural events including celebration meeting, seminar and film show in praise of the revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Jong Il on this anniversary.
