He won two gold medals in the men's 62kg category of the 2017 Asian Weightlifting Championship by jerking 168kg and lifting 301kg in total. He also took the first place in the men's 62kg category of the 29th Summer Universiad by lifting 303kg in total and thus was selected as one of the ten best players of the DPRK in 2017.

Sin, born in Nampho City, began weightlifting at the age of 13.

He won the first place at different domestic juvenile games in succession and has held the national championship in the men's 62 kg category from five years ago.

He proved successful in the 2013 Asian Cup and Interclub Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championship and the 2015 Asian Weightlifting Championship.
