The prime minister, foreign minister and defense minister of Japan are responding to it with such balderdash as "threat" from the DPRK, while saying that "the DPRK is employing the strategy of whiling away time" and urging the need "not to be taken in by the smile diplomacy but to put maximum pressure with all possible means".

It is against this backdrop that the formation of U.S. nuclear strategic bombers and formations of F-15 fighters of the Japan "Self-Defense Forces" including B-52 deployed in Guam under the pretext of rotational deployment went frantic in conducting joint aerial exercises.

Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Sunday condemns it as a hysteric act quite contrary to the desire of the international community, an act which is not compatible with the prevailing environment on the Korean peninsula.

The U.S. and Japan seek tensions and war, not stability and peace on the Korean peninsula, the news analyst says, and goes on:

The atmosphere for detente being created on the Korean peninsula can not be welcomed by the U.S. which aims at realizing its Asia-Pacific domination strategy by keeping south Korea as a springboard for invasion of the DPRK and the continent and at gaining profits from munitions dealings, nor by Japan which seeks the ambition for reinvasion with the backing of the master.

Herein lies the reason that the U.S. and Japan are stoking the confrontation with the DPRK in order to undermine the atmosphere for detente.

The U.S. and Japan will only face worldwide censure as a chief culprit harassing peace no matter how persistently they may cry out for confrontation with the DPRK while going against the trend of the times, and such acts will only harden the will of the Korean people to retaliate against the sworn enemies.
