In this regard, Rodong Sinmun in a commentary Tuesday says it is nothing but an open declaration of war by the rogue state, which means to dare make a preemptive nuclear strike on the DPRK in order to bring the Korean peninsula and the world into a nuclear holocaust.

The commentary goes on:

The NPR invented by the Trump group is a product of the black-hearted intention to realize the ambition for aggression by starting a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula at any cost.

The Trump group, that shaped the DPRK policy billed "maximum pressure and engagement", is leaving no means untried to isolate and stifle the DPRK, while crying out for its "nuclear threat" and "denuclearization".

There prevails on the Korean Peninsula the atmosphere of detente and peace thanks to the DPRK's initiative and proactive compatriotic measure. But in the wake of the rapid deployment of nuclear strategic assets and special warfare forces to south Korea and its vicinity, the U.S. announced that it would resume the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises right after the Winter Olympics. It is also a deliberate provocation to turn the trend of the present situation back to confrontation and war.

The Trump group's racket for confrontation with the DPRK is a suicidal act of digging a pitfall of ruin by itself.

Once the DPRK starts its decisive military strike, the mainland of the U.S. as well as its military bases in the Pacific area of operations will never be safe.
