Irina Malenko, chairwoman of the Ireland-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairwoman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to organize colorful political and cultural events such as a seminar and a film show in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
