Pyongyang, February 13 (KCNA) -- The 7th National Pencil Drawing Festival opened to celebrate the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il, the Day of the Shining Star. Presented to the festival are more than 500 excellent pencil drawings created by service personnel and artists, working people of various strata, school youth and children and kindergartners across the country. Seen at the centre of the festival venue is an art piece "Best wishes of all people" depicting the images of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. There are also drawings showing the boundless reverence of the Korean army and people for Kim Jong Il, who laid an eternal foundation for the building of a powerful and prosperous country, finding himself on the road of patriotic devotion for the country and the people all his life. Some art pieces represent the fairyland-like appearance of the country where the peerlessly great men's patriotic wishes to build a powerful country are translated into reality under the guidance of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un. And some are depicting the struggle of the Korean army and people performing miracles and innovations in every field of a great upswing. Its opening ceremony was held at the Pyongyang International House of Culture on Tuesday. |
