Abe Group Blasted for Anti-Chongryon Action
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The Japanese police authorities arrested the former chairman of the Katsushiga chapter of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on Jan. 31 on suspicion of the "violation of secondhand dealer law".

The next day, under the pretext that remittance to Chongryon was recorded in his bankbook, the police searched the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon and the house of its vice-chairman and concurrently director for publicity and culture and the office of the "Mirae Foundation" set up for supporting the Korean schools.

Commenting on the fact, Rodong Sinmun Friday says that such an anti-Chongryon campaign is aimed at creating an anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon climate in the Japanese society and destroying the dignified organization of overseas citizens of the DPRK.

The Abe group is also seeking conditions and pretext to realize its consistent militarist ambition by escalating the tension on the Korean Peninsula, the news analyst says, and goes on:

Historically the Japanese right-wing reactionaries had suppressed Chongryon whenever their hostile policy towards the DPRK and design to convert Japan into a military giant faced a serious crisis.

They use the suppression of Chongryon as a lever to enforce the hostile policy toward the DPRK.

Their desperate anti-Chongryon moves will only reveal Japan's true colors as a brazen-faced war criminal state and an ugly human rights abuser.
