Its scenery is great in all seasons, but especially in winter it looks more magnificent and miraculous.

On the top of the peak, one can command a bird's-eye view of a spectacle that blizzard swirls a wavy sea of trees and runs up the ridge and cliffs of the peak.

When interviewed by KCNA, Choe Ryon Hui, section chief of the Management Office for Revolutionary Battle Sites in the Secret Camp of Mt Paektu, said:

The scenery of Jongil Peak is unparalleled in the world as its grandiose and superb natural beauty harmonizes with the high aim and spirit of the heaven-sent great man of Paektu.

Our people carved on a cliff of the peak letters "Jongilbong" in November Juche 77 (1988) to manifest their faith and will to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered in Mt Paektu generation after generation.

Since then, the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu have become evermore glorious as the powerful center for education in the revolutionary tradition and as the eternal treasure of the country.

Indeed, Jongil Peak is not only the witness to the revolutionary history of the three commanders of Mt Paektu but also the historic peak displaying all over the world the glory of the Korean nation with the birth of Kim Jong Il, the Shining Star of Mt Paektu.
