Government Officials Visit Kumsusan Palace of Sun
Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Officials of the DPRK government visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun Friday to pay homage to leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, his birth anniversary.

Among them were Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, and others and the chairman of a friendly party and officials of the Cabinet, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions.

Seen before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il at the palace was a floral basket bearing the august name of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Also there was a floral basket in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the WPK Central Military Commission and the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK.

A floral basket in the joint name of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK was placed before the statues.

The participants paid tribute to the great leaders before their statues.

At the hall where Kim Jong Il lies in state, they made deep bow to him.

The visitors went round the hall where orders Kim Jong Il received are on display and halls that house a car, an electric car, boat and train coach used by him during his field guidance and foreign tours till the last moments of his life.

Also visiting the palace were servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and civilians from all walks of life.
