Kim Jong Il's Exploits Lauded in Myanmar

| Pyongyang, February 17 (KCNA) -- Tha Win, secretary of the Yangon Regional Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar who is chairman of the preparatory committee of Myanmar for celebrating the 76th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il, issued a statement on Feb. 1 with the approach of his birth anniversary (the Day of the Shining Star). He paid the highest tribute to Kim Jong Il who made an immortal contribution to the accomplishment of the human cause of independence. He said in his statement that Kim Jong Il developed the Workers' Party of Korea into the powerful party which defends the interests of the people, enjoying their support and trust. He smashed the imperialists' moves for stifling the DPRK with his unique Songun politics, defended the country's sovereignty and security and peace on the Korean Peninsula and ushered in a fresh era of building a powerful socialist country, Tha Win noted, and went on: His exploits are shining as the precious legacy guaranteeing the final victory in the DPRK. His august name and great exploits will be eternally kept in the minds of the progressives. |
