S. Korean Dissident Party Opposes Joint Military Drills
Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the People's Democratic Party of south Korea stressed on Feb. 21 that the joint military exercises disrupting the relations between the south and the north should never be held, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Minjok Ilbo.

He charged that Defense Minister Song Yong Mu on Feb. 20 clarified that Key Resolve and Foal Eagle would be resumed at the end of the Winter Olympics.

He also denounced that the U.S. forces commander in south Korea in his report to the U.S. House of Representatives on Feb. 14 stated the joint military exercises with south Korea would be held every year.

The Trump administration has escalated tensions on the Korean peninsula, consistently pursuing the "hostile policy toward" the DPRK during the Olympics, he said, adding: The resumption of the exercises beset with the danger of a nuclear war on the peninsula will derail the improvement of the south-north relations.

The authorities are just repeating the words that "they hope to see the south-north dialogue leading to the denuclearization dialogue between the U.S. and the north", he said, urging the authorities never to hold the joint military drills.
