DPRK Young Pianist Plays in Russia

Pyongyang, February 24 (KCNA) -- Choe Jang Hung, a student of Pyongyang Music School No.1 of Kim Won Gyun University of Music who grew up as a pianist, appeared on the stage of the performance "Masters of Moscow, Today and Tomorrow" held in Russia on Feb. 18. In the performance he played a piano in company with the National Chamber Orchestra of Russia conducted by People's Artiste of the Soviet Union Vladimir Spivakov, director of the Moscow International Music Hall who is a world-famous conductor and violinist. In the past period Choe took the first and special place at the 20th International Juvenile Chopin Piano Contest and the 2nd Moscow International Piano Concours named after Krainev. This time, too, he displayed his talent to the full. The audience lavished praises for presenting world famous songs with his refined and skillful rendition and rich musical sentiment. The audience congratulated him upon his successful play, presenting flowers to him when it was over. |
