Present there were Chairman of the Korean Council of Religionists Kang Ji Yong, Vice-Chairman of the Central Guidance Committee of the Chondoist Association of Korea Yun Jong Ho, and members of the Central Committees of the Buddhist Federation of Korea, the Christian Federation of Korea and the Korean Catholics Association.

Yun Jong Ho in his report said that the March First Popular Uprising, which left a shining chapter in Korea's history of anti-Japanese national liberation movement, was a nationwide anti-Japanese patriotic resistance for the sovereignty and independence of the nation against the barbaric colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists.

Through the uprising that shook the foundation of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule down to the roots, the Korean nation demonstrated to the world that it has strong spirit of independence in which they do never want to live as the slave of others and that it has indomitable stamina and ardent patriotic spirit in which it is not afraid of any sacrifice in order to retake the country.

Nearly one century has passed since the uprising but the Korean nation is still divided and its complete sovereignty has not yet been realized due to the outsiders, he said, stressing that now is time for all Koreans to courageously turn out just like those who took part in the uprising and open up a wide avenue to the independent reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation.

No mater how desperately the U.S. and Japan, which are not desirous of the unity and reunification of the Korean nation, and the conservative forces within the nation servile to them, may try to check the improvement of the north-south relations, they can not quench the nation's desire for reunification, he said.

The reporter appealed to the religionists and other people of all social standings in the north and the south and abroad craving for love, peace, reconciliation and reunification to carry forward the indomitable stamina and soul of the patriotic forerunners and bravely foil all sorts of anti-reunification challenges and obstructive moves at home and abroad and open up a decisive phase for independent reunification.
