Day of Shining Star Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, March 2 (KCNA) -- Meetings took place in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar, Germany and Austria between February 2 and 15 to celebrate the Day of the Shining Star, the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.

Present at the meetings were personages of different circles and masses of those countries.

The general secretary of the C.C., Workers' Party of Bangladesh, the secretary general of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party and other speakers stressed that Kim Jong Il is a prominent thinker-theoretician who developed and enriched the Juche idea of President Kim Il Sung into the guiding idea in the era of independence.

The secretary general of the Karachi Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association and the chairman of the Lahore Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea described the birth of Kim Jong Il as a historic event that brought light of hope to the world oppressed people.

The secretary of the Yangon Regional Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar said that Kim Jong Il developed the Workers' Party of Korea into a revolutionary party with strong sense of organization and discipline and turned the DPRK into the unique politico-ideological power in the world in which the army and people are firmly united around the Party.

The chief and members of the Dresden Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in Germany said that Kim Jong Il regarded the interests of the people as the starting point of all thinking and activities and made painstaking efforts for their realization.

The general secretary of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK stressed that Kim Jong Il is the Songun brilliant commander who smashed the moves of the U.S. and its vassal forces to stifle the DPRK and firmly defended socialist Korea with the treasured sword of Songun.

Congratulatory messages to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un were adopted at the meetings in Pakistan, Germany and Austria.
