Women of the DPRK took their position as flowers of the country and the revolution under the loving care of President Kim Il Sung who ushered in the Korean women's movement and put forward them as a powerful force pushing one of the two wheels of the revolutionary chariot through the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality.

Thanks to the love care and trust of leader Kim Jong Il who added glory to the dignified and happy life of women with his politics of prioritizing and respecting women, they became genuine revolutionaries dedicating themselves to the Party and the leader, the country and the people.

Now, their life attains the highest stage of happiness under the benevolent loving care of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who is carrying forward the noble intention of great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The respected supreme leader arranged a celebration performance on the occasion of the March 8 International Women's Day in Juche 101 (2012) and sent warm congratulations to all the women of the country. And he took a measure to institute Mother's Day, the first of its kind in the history of Korea, that year.

Under his profound loving care for women, the Breast Tumour Institute came into being at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and workers' hostels at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill and the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill.
