Pyongyang, March 9 (KCNA) -- A memorial service for the Korean victims was held at the Tokyo metropolitan memorial hall on March 4 on the lapse of 73 years since the U.S. forces made an air raid on Tokyo. Present there were Jin Kil Sang, director of the Rights and Welfare Department of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Jo Il Yon, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, Koreans in Japan, Kiyoshi Nishizawa, representative of the Tokyo fact-finding group for the probe into the truth about the forcible drafting of Koreans, and Japanese figures. The participant paid silent tribute to the victims. Read out there was a memorial address from the Korean Committee on Measures for the Sexual Slavery for Japanese Army and Drafting Victims. The memorial address said that Japan disguised itself as a victim to distort the truth. It urged the Japanese authorities to apologize to drafting victims, pay reparations to them and take immediate practical measures to find remains to bury according to the wishes of bereaved families. The representative of the Tokyo fact-finding group said that he would share pain with victims of the air raid and continue to make efforts to prevent the recurrence of such a disaster. |
