Kim Il Sung regarded the peasant issue as an important one deciding the victory of the revolution after he embarked on the road of the revolution and had wisely led the work for awakening and organizing the broad masses of peasants to inspire them to the revolutionary struggle.

He personally went to vast rural areas including Kalun and Wujiazi to bring up hard cores there and founded the Peasants' Union, the first revolutionary organization of peasants in Korea, on March 10, Juche 17 (1928) on the basis of full preparations.

Leader Kim Jong Il steadily developed the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea so that it could fully discharge its historic mission as the Party’s reliable transmission belt and peripheral organization.

The idea of building the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and leadership exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are being successfully carried forward by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

A meeting was held at the Central Hall of Workers on Friday to mark the anniversary.

Present there were Choe Hwi, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ko In Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet and minister of Agriculture, officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and agricultural workers.
