Riganggo is brewed from a mixture of distilled spirits and ginger and celebrated pear produced in Hwanghae province.

History books like "Tongguksesigi" and "Kyongdojapji" say that Riganggo is one of famous liquors of Korea together with Kamhong-ro (high-quality spirit) of Pyongyang.

Rigango is yellowish lucid liquor with fresh and attractive flavor of pear and ginger and has enjoyed popularity in Hwanghae province from olden times.

Now, the method of brewing Riganggo is being further developed thanks to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on protecting the nation's cultural heritage.
