Ibrahim Mantu, member of the Credit Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Nigeria and chairman of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

The committee decided to introduce the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung, personality of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un as a peerlessly great man and successes made by the Korean people in safeguarding the country's sovereignty and building a powerful socialist country under his guidance and to hold colorful political and cultural events such as a celebration meeting and film show on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung, the Day of the Sun.
